Late night picspam. I just don't want to go to bed because I'm afraid I will forget to breathe. Anyway, I have been getting out the watercolours again, which I do about once a year only to give up again after a week or two. And behold!

Albus and Gellert all gay and merry a long long time ago:

An original Order of the Phoenix meeting (they used to be grand piss-ups, until things got serious):

And here's something that is somewhat nicerlier executed, in colour rather than monochrome - Draco Malfoy worried about his future hairline:

Okay, I just made cruel and derisory remarks about Draco's hairline and the original Order of the Phoenix. But whatever idiotic words I may utter, the pictures are all serious really and nought but humble and unworthy tokens of my adoration for J K Rowling's wonderful series.

EDIT: I got a letter from my father today, in which he commented on the new picture of Draco. He's actually reading Harry Potter now because of my pictures which is really sweet (but he's enjoying them a lot). Here's something he said about the character, anyway, which made me laugh: "I shall get to HP 4 before long, so presumably Draco Malfoy's fate lies some time in the future, but I am expecting him to come to a sticky end sometime before the end of the series, unless Harry's good heart lets him off. I could do without that Goyle and the other character, whatever his name is." *squee*

I love your style! My favourite is the Draco one - the colouring is amazing.

Eee these are so sweet! The Albus and Gellert one makes me all sorts of happy and sad, like a sweet and sour pork dish. It's just, I never really cared for their story in the book, but fandom made me fond of it, and mostly through art. And your piece is no exception! I love the differences in their expressions and the way it seems like Albus is not the alpha dog he becomes as he gets older.

Yay original Order! I find it interesting that James is the reserved-looking on in the picture. Reminds me very much of his son. XD

Heee Draco - great colouring and especially with the shadows! Your watercolour style reminds me of [info]ani_bester's, except yours definitely seem more paint-heavy and almost gouache-ish? Which is really cool; heavy-paint styles in watercolours are so awesome. I totally aspire to do that! And I looove the paleness of his eye, it is very sharp and clear, but still so pale! *claps*

Thanks so much! I liked the relationship already when I read the book, or the overtones of it. When JKR outed Dumbledore I felt kind of stunned, as if my two strictly separated HP canon and fandom watertight tanks had been sort of jolted and splashed over into each other a bit. Anyway, Albus was so totally not the alpha dog...

Glad you like the original Order pic. That's another kind of stinging moment. Funny that you mention James' reservedness. I did the first version of this picture (the basic positions of the three haven't changed) before I got into fandom, where I think James' past as a bully and his fanon!egomania are much more prominent. As in general his whole character. And although Harry's supposed to be a carbon-copy of James (except for his eyes, Snape's eyes, bla bla) I imagine James to be a bit taller and lanky-Adrien-Brodyish.

Cheers about Draco. I think [info]ani_bester uses watercolours properly, and I'm a photoshop-using-fraud. I always paste them on, my instinct is to layer like oil paints. I don't know if the quality I want from watercolours is actually achievable? Oh, re: his eye... I imagine Draco's (and Lucius') eyes to be so pale you can't really tell exactly where he's looking (let alone what he's thinking). Perfect Slytherinesque Malfoyism.

Why? Well, I was so inside the character in your pic that it made think of that :))
